Athletics

A quality interscholastic athletic program is an important part of a student's educational experience. GSL Athletics is committed to promoting the ideals of teamwork, good sportsmanship, skills development, and healthy competition. By nurturing and encouraging these ideals through athletics, our goal is to improve the athletic ability and fitness of our students and instill in them the principles of teamwork, lifelong physical fitness, and the character-building traits inherent in athletics and competition.

Playing Policies

Some forms you may need:

GSL offers teams in the sports listed above. Lower school students are eligible to compete in soccer, basketball, softball, and baseball through Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Middle School students participate in soccer through the Church. It is not considered a school sport. We believe that every student, regardless of athletic ability, can grow and benefit through participation in interscholastic athletics. To this end GSL has a no-cut policy. Every student who wants to play will have the opportunity. This does not guarantee a specific amount of playing time. Playing time is based on attitude, attendance, and ability. Coaches determine that student-athletes who more often contribute to the goals of the team will play considerably more than other members of the team, particularly on the older teams.
