Library

The GSL school library is centrally located on campus in the newly constructed Anchor Center at 250 Lemaster.
With more than 16,000 thousand books and resources in the library, we offer a wide variety of reading materials, including electronic and traditional resources for students age 3 and up and for teacher use.
The library is open from 7:45 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. GSL Librarians Jan Willis and Emilee Cox maintain the facility and have weekly library time for students in prekindergarten through fourth grade. Middle School students use the library as a resource for research, assignments and personal reading.
Students may also take Accelerated Reading (AR) Quizzes and do diagnostic testing using the Reading Renaissance databases in the library.
February's a great month at the GSL Library! This month, second grade students will explore our online NetTrekker resources. Third grade students will select a historical fiction book for their book reports. Fourth grade students will create a formal book report on a title of their choice within their reading range. Fifth grade students will discover online library resources in subjects ranging from Ancient Egypt to the human heart to the brain. Black History Month, Valentine's Day, and Presidents Day will also be explored during our library lessons through the use of books as well as online resources.
