School Uniform Information
Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal School requires uniforms for students in Grades 1-8.
Parker Uniform is the school's uniform supplier. You can contact them at (901) 386-6278 or view GSL uniform information at http://www.parkersu.com. The GSL Web ID is: ME067108. We also allow Lands' End uniform style pants and shorts (NOT cargo style) in addition to Parker. Our school code for Lands' End is 9000-9651-2.
Standard uniform items that are worn in the classroom are listed below. Please note that certain days on the school calendar are noted as dress uniform days (selected chapel services, Open House, etc.) The items required for dress uniform wear are noted in bold below.

Boys: Grades 1-4

• Khaki shorts or pants (Parker or Lands' End uniform pants (NOT cargo style)
• White Oxford shirt (short or long sleeved with no brand logo, can be purchased anywhere, required for dress uniform)
• Parker polo shirts in white, red, or black (short or long sleeved with GSL logo)
• White or black turtlenecks (plain, may be purchased anywhere)
• Parker sweaters – red or black pullover or crew neck
• GSL Spirit Wear fleece and sweatshirts
• Socks of your choosing in white or black>
• Belt of your choosing
• Tie of your choosing (required for dress uniform)
• Blue Blazer (any brand; required for dress uniform for Grade 4 only!)

Boys: Grades 5-8

• Khaki pants (Parker or Lands' End uniform pants; NOT cargo style)
• White Oxford shirts (short or long sleeved, no brand logo, can be purchased anywhere, required for dress uniform)

• Facial hair is not permitted. Hair must be kept trimmed and out of student's eyes; boys must have their ears visible and the hair off the collar.

Girls: Grades 1-4

• Parker plaid jumper and/or plaid skort (required for dress uniform)
• Khaki skort, shorts and/or khaki pants (Parker or Lands' End)
• Parker polo shirts in white, red or black (short or long sleeved with GSL logo)
• Parker blouse in any style below or white Oxford (short or long sleeved, no logo, may be purchased anywhere);required for dress uniform
  • White with red trim blouse
  • White over-blouse
  • White middy blouse (red middy tie optional)
• White or black turtlenecks (plain, may be purchased anywhere)
• Parker sweaters - cardigan, pullover, crew neck in red or black

Girls: Grades 5-8

• Parker plaid pleated skirt* or skort or khaki (Parker or Lands End) pleated skirt or skort (required for dress uniform)
• Navy blue blazer (may be purchased anywhere, required for dress uniform)
• Khaki pants (Parker or Lands End)
• Parker polo shirts in white, red or black (short or long sleeved with GSL logo)
• Parker blouse in any style below or white Oxford (short or long sleeved, no logo, may be purchased anywhere);required for dress uniform
  • White over-blouse
  • White middy blouse (red middy tie optional)
• White or black turtlenecks (plain, may be purchased anywhere)

*Note: Skirts and skorts should be no more than 4 inches above the knee.

Footwear:
Footwear must be clean and in good condition. For safety reasons, students in grades 1-4 are not permitted to wear backless shoes. Platform or high-heeled shoes greater than two inches are prohibited.

Cold Weather Note:
Students can wear any jacket, coat, and hat they want for outside wear, but these items may not be worn in the classroom. Only Spirit Wear fleece, GSL sweatshirts, or Parker uniform sweaters may be worn inside the classroom. All items should be labeled with your child's name.

Dress-Down Days:
The school occasionally designates dress-down days when students can be out of uniform. On these days, students may wear shorts or nice blue jeans. T-shirts must be free of objectionable words or images, and not be a typical undershirt. Girls’ choice of clothing should not be too revealing or tight (i.e., no spaghetti straps, short shorts, short tops that reveal waistlines, or Soffees that are too tight). Footwear for students should not be too casual (i.e., no slippers or flimsy beach-style flip-flops). Pajama pants and other sleepwear are not permitted.

General Comments @ Dress Code: 
The school expects students to demonstrate pride in themselves and in their school by refraining from any dress, hair fashion, accessories, or general appearance that is in any way bizzare or not in accordance with the spirit of Grace-St. Luke's School. Teachers will confer with students whose dress does not conform to the dress code.

Uniform Exchange Sale
The Uniform Exchange is a service the Parents' Association provides for rising 1st through 8th graders. Parents have the opportunity to consign and purchase gently worn uniform items at 60% off of the original prices at an annual exchange sale event. The Parents' Association keeps $1 from each item sold. In May, volunteers help with pre-sale preparation, receiving of clothing, setting up, staffing and cleaning up the sale and in return get to shop first.

All payment at the sale is by school charge. School accounts will be debited, with credit given to any clothing you sell, and you will receive the bill on a Fall statement. If you sell items but do not purchase any, the Parents’ Association will send you a check for the items sold. All unsold clothing becomes the property of GSL Parents’ Association at the conclusion of the sale.
