School pitches in to help MIFA Handyman Project
Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal School hosted its annual Day of Service for fifth-graders and their peers from St. Mary's Episcopal School. This year, the students partnered with MIFA's Handyman Project through GSL '01 alumnus and MIFA coordinator Patrick Howie.
The students designed and painted murals that will be installed at Lester Community Center and at the Jacob's Ladder Community Development Center. Additionally, students collected snacks and school supplies to support the efforts of these centers to anchor their neighborhoods through their after-school homework and tutoring sessions. Photos from the event were featured in the Commercial Appeal's My Life section on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011.
