Debbie Callahan was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee and attended Dyersburg High School. She graduated from UT-Martin in 1976 with a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education. She came to Memphis in the summer of 1976 on a graduate assistantship from the University of Memphis, and graduated with a master’s degree in Education in May, 1977. She has been teaching K-8 physical education and coaching Middle School sports at Grace-St. Luke’s since the fall of 1977. She has also been a swimming instructor for more than 30 years. Debbie has two sons who attended Grace-St. Luke’s from Miss Lee’s through the eighth grade. She enjoys running, playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with family and friends
