Ellen Hendry is a native Memphian who grew up as a parishioner of Grace-St. Luke's church. After attending Hutchison School, she went to Hollins College, graduating with a B.A. in History.  She later earned her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Memphis. She spent 10 years living and working in New York City before returning to Memphis to raise her family. She has been at GSL for eight years, teaching sixth and seventh grade English. Ellen enjoys reading, traveling, entertaining, and spending time with her family. She has two children who attended GSL. Her son Bryce graduated from the University of Georgia and lives in Memphis.  Her daughter Natalie currently attends the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
