Myrna Whitt considers herself a lifelong Memphian, although she lived in Virginia for about 20 years. She attended Frayser High School, Rhodes College (where she received her bachelor’s degree in Religious Education), and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (where she received her master’s in Religious Education). She had been an administrator and teacher for 25 years before joining the GSL community in 1996 to teach junior kindergarten. She has one daughter, who currently is a professor in the Accounting Department at LaGrange College, one son-in-law, and eight grandchildren, all of whom live in LaGrange, Georgia.
