GSL alumna Marci Deshaies Woodmansee joined the staff of the school in 2006 as the communications associate. A member of GSL's ninth grade graduating class in 1983, she went on to attend Central High School and then Rhodes College, where she graduated cum laude with a B.A. in English in 1990. She completed graduate coursework in print journalism at the University of Georgia, and began her career as a reporter and editor for Little Publications, which published national agricultural trade magazines for the cotton, rice, and soybean industries. After Little, she joined the staff of Towery Publishing as a softbacks editor and writer for Agenda magazine, and eventually went to work at the Memphis Arts Council as the public relations director. Marci is married to Ken (also a GSL alum, class of '81); they have two children, Mary and Will, who currently attend GSL.
