A native Memphian, Martha Young attended East High school and graduated with a B.S. and 30 graduate hours in Education from the University of Memphis. Prior to becoming a part of the faculty at GSL, she taught at elementary schools in Florida and New York, and at the American School of Kinshasa in Zaire, Republic of Congo. She has been at GSL for 15 years teaching first grade. Her daughter, Emily, is a graduate of GSL. She has three children and six grandchildren. She enjoys running and spending time with her family.
