Middle School Performing Arts Teacher
GSL is seeking a passionate and dedicated Theater/Performing Arts Teacher to join our school faculty. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for theater and a strong commitment to nurturing and developing students' creativity and talent. Primary responsibilities will include teaching a range of 5th-8th grade theater classes, directing two annual productions, and inspiring students to explore and excel in the dramatic arts.
Other Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an engaging performing arts block curriculum for four Middle School grade levels, which includes guiding 8th grade students in writing and delivering Chapel Talks.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect for others.
- Organize and direct two school theater productions annually, which includes selecting plays, casting roles for 4th-8th grade student actors, coordinating rehearsals and costuming, and managing technical aspects such as lighting, sound, and set design.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students on their performances and projects.
- Collaborate with other arts faculty and school staff as needed to integrate theater arts into interdisciplinary projects and events.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance evaluations.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues regarding students' progress and participation in theater activities.
- Stay current with trends and developments in theater education and incorporate new methodologies/technologies into the curriculum as appropriate.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts, Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field required; Master’s degree in a similar field preferred
- Previous teaching experience in theater arts at the middle school level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of theater history, dramatic literature, and various theatrical styles and techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Passion for working with middle school students and fostering their artistic development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the overall school community.

Lower Elementary Lead Teacher
Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal School seeks a mission-appropriate educator to fill a Lower School 4th Grade teaching position, beginning immediately. This individual will be responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans, updating student records, and working with colleagues to deliver an outstanding elementary curriculum. The successful candidate will have a college degree in education or other related field. Teaching certification or master's degree a plus, as well as experience with a reader's and writer's workshop model of instruction. The successful candidate will possess a sense of humor, a professional attitude, a desire to work with elementary-aged children, and the ability to communicate positively and constructively with parents. Technology skills are a plus, as is prior experience.

Maintenance Specialist
Grace-St. Luke's is seeking an individual to join the facilities and maintenance team. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position. The successful candidate will have basic knowledge in one or more of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, general carpentry. Experience in general building maintenance is a huge plus. This individual must have excellent communication and customer service skills and be able to work independently across the school's busy campus.

Substitute Teacher Position - All grades
There are opportunities throughout the year to serve as a substitute teacher at the Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School levels. We are seeking mission-appropriate individuals who can specialize in one or more of these age groups. Substitutes are responsible for implementing lesson plans, updating student records, and working with colleagues to deliver the specific curriculum needed depending on the particular assignment. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the program, supervising and engaging with students, creating and implementing activities, and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents. This position works closely with teachers, students, parents, and administrators in a variety of capacities.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in a relevant field, be a self-starter with the ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. He or she will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be approachable and genuine, possess strong ethics, a love of school-age children, and a sense of humor. Prior teaching experience is a plus but not required.
