Middle School (5th-8th)

The Best Tools for the Journey Ahead

In Middle School, our goal is to equip students with all the tools they need for success in high school, college, and beyond. While academics are the primary focus, we know that education must be broader, deeper, and richer if we prepare the whole child.

In fifth through eighth grade, students enjoy a full range of experiences in accelerated academics, sports, leadership, the arts, peer relationships, and spiritual discovery. Students have numerous opportunities to serve as mentors for their younger peers through partnership activities between grade levels. In the classroom, our low teacher-student ratio means plenty of time is available for individual support and direction. We employ teachers with unique talents in academics, arts, and athletics. In partnership with parents, we work to ensure each child’s developmental needs are met.

As students reach eighth grade, teachers and administrators work with students and families to help them identify and apply to the high schools that will be the best fit. Students leave GSL well-prepared for success in high school, college, and beyond, and knowing that GSL will truly remain their Anchor for life.
