A Place to Honor Alumni & Others

There are two permanent installations at GSL where alumni are honored and memorialized. Alumni Corner was launched in 2013 at the corner of Linden and Lemaster as a recognition opportunity to honor and remember alumni, faculty, and other GSL supporters. Many families buy a plaque to honor their child upon 8th grade graduation from GSL, to celebrate the transition from student to Saints alumnus.

In addition to the numerous alumni currently recognized on Alumni Corner, plaques have been purchased through the years to celebrate faculty, memorialize students, and honor other GSL superstars, which caused the space to fill more quickly than originally anticipated. This guided the school's decision in 2024 to expand the commemoration space by adding a larger installation area on the patio wall of the Anchor Center itself, directly behind the original Alumni Corner. Named the Alumni Alcove, the newer installation space is covered, and already holds special status because of its designation as an outdoor gathering spot that only eighth graders may utilize during the school day.

The alumni and other special Saints celebrated with plaques on this wall enhance the space for the eighth graders and help inspire our community for years to come.
