P.A. Events

The All-School Picnic is held every fall at Snowden Field (GSL’s athletic field at 2233 Harbert). Food and drinks are provided. It's a great way to meet other families and enjoy a fun, school-wide community event. Bring your own blanket/chairs!

The P.A. hosts several special events throughout the school year to honor faculty/staff. There are opportunities for parents to get involved to celebrate their children's teachers and volunteer with some of the appreciation events!

One of the P.A.’s most popular moneymakers is the two-week Charleston Wrap sale - a great opportunity to stock up on wrapping paper and gifts. Ask out-of-town friends and family to shop online (www.charlestonwrap.com, school ID 11033). Profits from all sales are used to fund classroom enhancements, new curriculum, and a variety of teacher wish list items that directly benefit the students’ learning experiences. So shop big, and feel great about supporting the Saints! All sales are online.

Teams compete at this annual P.A. event to see who has the best trivia knowledge! Highlights include themed tables, door prizes, and a grand prize!

A GSL tradition for more than 50 years, this event is hosted by the 8th grade class and their families. All are invited to join in the fun for an in-person dinner in the Anchor Center, or purchase meals to go! The 8th graders wait tables and serve customers in addition to hosting  a kids' carnival with activities during the event. Proceeds benefit the 8th graders' traditional year-end whitewater rafting trip to Nantahala. 

This special night out is for all 4th-8th grade girls and their favorite father figures! The themed event takes place in the Anchor Center Cafeteria.

This special event is for boys in grades 4-8 and their favorite mother figures! Previous events include bowling, scavenger hunts, movie nights at Railgarten & GSL, and Grizzlies games at FedExForum!  

The Anchor Auction is the P.A.'s #1 fundraiser and is a fun adult evening complete with dinner, drinks, and auction, this year at Old Dominick Distillery. All proceeds help fund classroom enhancements, new curriculum, and a variety of teacher wish list items. 
 

This event is a great opportunity to recycle gently-used children's books and trade them for other books — for FREE! There will be collection boxes around campus leading up to the Swap.

Shop online or in store this week, and GSL will receive 20% of the total net sales! This is a great way to support one of our local bookstores and our GSL community.

P.A. volunteers offer support as needed throughout the year (coordinating meals, transportation, etc.) for GSL families facing a health crisis or other personal difficulties involving an immediate family member. 

Want to show off your Saints spirit? Spirit Wear is a perfect way to display your GSL pride! It includes non-uniform items — t-shirts, hats, and accessories that are great for dress-down days or weekends, as well as outerwear — sweatshirts, fleeces, and pullovers that can be worn as part of the school uniform in the classroom.
