Student Driven Project - Grade 7
When: Spring
What: Having experienced the different service learning themes throughout the years, 7th graders are given the opportunity to identify organizations and problems that they would like to learn more about and support. By initiating a service learning project and working as a team to find ideas and solutions, 7th graders are developing leadership skills that will see them into the future as problem-solvers and independent learners.
Curriculum: Working with teachers, students research needs and come up with a plan of action. After implementing the plan, they reflect on their experience.
Past projects include sponsoring a blood drive for LifeBlood and reading to dogs at the Humane Society.
